Description: Talisman follows the disgraced hero, Rothe Elthorn, who lives in solitude after an event which took the lives of his entire party which once saved the kingdom together. In this action-packed 2D sidescroller, the hero must rise from the ashes of his shame to once again save his kingdom. Traveling along the well-worn path of the Hero's Journey, he must travel through a ruined temple, a skeptical town, and a magical forest; revisiting his harrowing memories on the road of trials to be able to carry his now-gone friends’ strength with him. The game features special abilities attained at each key site: enhanced movement to better navigate platforms, a ranged fireball to aid in combat, and a mystical healing power-- all stemming from the divine objects known as Talismans. Art and writing combine, creating cutscenes to support the development of the story along with interaction with characters from both the past and present, letters, narration moments, and the game’s environment. Talisman explores grief, guilt, redemption, and what it truly means to be a hero. Will Rothe Elthorn be able to let go of his past to cultivate a better future, or will he be consumed by the memories haunting him?
